Beginner Knit: Fundamentals

Join us for an exciting 2-part beginner’s class where you’ll master the fundamentals of knitting! Whether you're brand new or need a refresher, this class will give you the confidence to get started. By the end of the series, you’ll complete a sweet cotton face cloth—and be ready to tackle your next project.

What You’ll Learn:

Casting on, the knit and purl stitches, how to combine stitches to create texture and pattern, and how to bind off your work.

Skill Level: Beginner - no experience necessary!

Materials Needed:

Pattern: Washcloth with Garter Stitch Edge (pattern supplied)

Yarn: 1 skein cotton yarn (recommended: Plymouth Fantasy, Cascade Splash, Noble Cotton, or Universal Cotton)

Needles: US 7 (5.0 mm) 24” circular needles

Notions: Tapestry/darning needle 

We ask that all yarn for classes be purchased in the shop. 10% discount will be applied. 

Class Size: 6 person max. Must have two registered for class to occur.

Lisa is your instructor for this class and teaches our Beginner Knitting, Beyond the Basics knitting classes, and private lessons at The Creative Knot.

With over 10 years of knitting experience, Lisa brings a warm, encouraging teaching style to every class. She loves helping knitters build confidence, grow their skills, and enjoy the creative process — whether they’re picking up needles for the first time or ready to take the next step in their knitting journey.

Registration: Students must be able to attend all classes as there are no make up classes. Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance in order to receive refund or credit. All cancellations must be sent in email to hello@thecreativeknot.com. Classes must be paid in advance.
