Sip & Learn! Pattern Reading & Yarn Choices for Knitters

We’re adding some happy hour vibes to our knitting skill-building classes with our first Sip & Learn event! Bring your favorite beverage and join us for a fun, relaxed evening focused on pattern reading and yarn choices.

This class will help you build confidence in reading and understanding knitting patterns so you can take on new projects with ease. We’ll break down how patterns are written, how to interpret abbreviations, gauge, sizing, and yarn suggestions, and how to make smart yarn substitutions with confidence.

In this class, we’ll cover:

How to read and follow a knitting pattern

Understanding pattern structure and layout

Common knitting abbreviations and terms

What gauge means and why it matters

How to choose the right yarn for a pattern

We’ll review several example patterns together, and you’re encouraged to bring a pattern of your own to look at and discuss. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and build confidence for your next knitting project.

Skill Level: All Levels

Materials:
Bring a pattern of your choice.

Class Size: 6 person max. Must have two registered for class to occur.

All classes must be paid in advance. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours before the start of class. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class start time, as well as missed classes, are not eligible for store credit. No exceptions.

Christine is your instructor for this class.

Christine has been knitting for almost 20 years and crocheting for close to 30. While she makes all things ranging from socks to shawls to stuffed toys, her favorite thing to knit is a sweater. On the rare occasion she is not knitting, you can find Christine gardening, baking sourdough, running, or at Disney.
